Holiday Outreach 2021

Making Spirits Bright in November!

It is always amazing to watch this day unfold. It is through the generosity of individuals, businesses, community groups and local churches who lend a hand year after year to make sure we care for our neighbors in need.

We are grateful to the Northborough Senior Center for providing the perfect space to host this event. On Friday afternoon the café is hopping. All “the fixings” for the Thanksgiving dinner that were collected by various groups gets dropped off. Food is sorted and packed into colorful bags donated by Stop and Shop and Hannaford. Employees from Trelleborg Sealing Solutions stopped by to drop off over 100 pies! The donated First Aid kits are stacked up and Yellicks Farm stopped in to leave the cheerful holiday arrangements for our seniors.

FUN FACT: Juniper Hill Golf Course has been providing turkeys for NHHA and Worcester County Food Bank for over 20 years thanks to their annual charitable golf event held the week before Thanksgiving.

Potatoes, carrots, celery, stuffing, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, gravy, rolls and pies, oh my!

Let the packing begin!

Many hands make light work

Saturday morning we get an early start. Vicky and Carolyn get the coffee brewing. Steve, Jon and Bob receive 120 frozen turkeys from the Lions Club, St. Bernadette’s and Juniper Golf Course. The team of elves set up their stations and get ready to serve our drive through guests. NHHA distributed grocery cards to 58 seniors and 32 families as well as Christmas gift cards for 137 children, all residents of Northborough.
